The Fundamentals of Innovation Engineering course, a collaboration between Eureka!Europe and the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), offers a transformative learning experience tailored to the unique needs of industrial clients.

Drawing on Eureka!Europe's extensive expertise and NMIS's state-of-the-art facilities, this programme equips participants with the essential skills and mindset needed to thrive in an increasingly complex business environment. Through a mixture of self-learning, interactive sessions and hands-on activities, participants learn practical techniques for idea generation, problem-solving, and effective communication to drive innovation within their organisations.

Upon completion of the training programme and an innovation project, participants will gain the prestigious innovation engineering blue belt certification. This signals a participant’s proficiency in innovation engineering and their ability to deliver tangible value to their organisations.

The Fundamentals of Innovation Engineering programme consists of three stages:

  • Stage 1: Four hours of online self-learning on the foundations of innovation.
  • Stage 2: Two and a half day, in-person training & workshops. Topics include recognising unique innovations, enhancing creativity, leveraging diversity, and accelerating success through experimentation.
  • Stage 3: Apply learned skills to address a personal workplace challenge over a two-month timeframe.

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the principles and methodologies of innovation engineering.
  • Acquire practical skills for generating, communicating, and implementing innovative ideas.
