New business models for manufacturing companies: exploring new ways of working

This event has now ended. You can rewatch the webinar below, or visit our YouTube channel for all other webinars.

NMIS Insights is a series of online and face-to-face seminars from the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS).

New ways of working have become a necessity for us all in recent weeks but for manufacturing companies they have been on the horizon for some time thanks to huge leaps in technology and availability of data.

Join us for an insightful webinar that will get you thinking about the new business models in modern manufacturing that have the potential to disrupt existing businesses and supply chains and offer up opportunities for new ones.

This webinar is aimed at managers, business leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs and start-ups within manufacturing and supply chain organisations large and small.  We'll tackle the modern concepts causing ripples within global manufacturing from the zero capital factory, manufacturing as a service, the sharing economy, factory in a box, through life engineering services, manufacturing in the cloud and more.

You will also be challenged to think about how, in the months and years to come, manufacturing organisations, like yours, could reconfigure their business models and their operations. For some this will mean investment in new technology and skills, for others, it will mean moving the focus from efficiency to increasing flexibility while embracing digital technologies.
